Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome Tuesday through Thursday, 12:00–2:00 PM. For evaluations, fittings, and adjustments — please call or email to schedule so we can give you our undivided attention.
I didn't buy my hearing aids here. Can you still help?
Absolutely. We service most major brands regardless of where you purchased them — Oticon, Phonak, Starkey, ReSound, and more. We also offer a full "adoption" service to take over your ongoing care completely.
How do I know if I need a hearing aid?
Hearing loss is gradual, which makes it easy to dismiss. If you're frequently asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the TV, or struggling in noisy environments, a baseline evaluation is a smart first step. Our 2-minute hearing check on our website is a great starting point.
Is modern hearing technology hard to use?
Not at all. We always fit around your comfort level — some patients want Bluetooth connectivity and an app, others just want to hear clearly. We take all the time you need and our goal is to make the technology invisible.
Can I bring a family member to my appointment?
We highly encourage it. A spouse, adult child, or close friend often provides valuable insight and research shows that patients with a support person have better outcomes. They're often the reason someone finally came in.
Do you help with tinnitus (ringing ears)?
Yes. Modern hearing devices include tinnitus masking technology. Even without a masker, treating your hearing gives the brain more sound to process — often significantly reducing the perceived intensity of tinnitus.
Is untreated hearing loss really linked to dementia?
Studies from Johns Hopkins identify untreated hearing loss as the single largest modifiable risk factor for dementia — more significant than blood pressure or smoking. Treating your hearing is a meaningful investment in your long-term brain health.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept Washington State Labor & Industry and Oregon SAIF for injured workers. CareCredit financing is available. We do not accept most standard health insurance plans, but we are always transparent about costs and will work with your situation.
What if I need service quickly or same-day?
Call us at 360.665.5881 and we'll do everything we can to accommodate you. We understand hearing aids are essential — if your device is out and you need help urgently, please don't hesitate to reach out.
How long does a hearing evaluation take?
A comprehensive evaluation typically takes 60–90 minutes, including time to discuss your results and answer all your questions. We never rush appointments — your time with us is yours.
